The October issue of our parish newsletter has just been released. Thanks to those who contributed, and to all for making this such a vibrant community to cover.

If you are interested in any way, please join us for a brief meeting of the newsletter editorial board after the Celebration this morning. Come down to the Godly Play room; even if you have just a few minutes to spare it would be great to have your input. Lay Pastoral Visitors Meeting – TODAY

There will be a Lay Pastoral Visitors meeting this Sunday, Oct. 23rd in the Wilkinson room after the service. If anyone is interested in learning more about this ministry you are welcome to join us.

Organ Recital followed by New Beginnings – this Wednesday 26 October, 12:30

New Beginnings (Group 9) invite you to its meeting October 26, 12:30pm. It will be very special as we shall first gather to enjoy our friend, Shawn Grenke, playing our organ in the Church.

Afterwards we shall retire to the Wilkinson Room. Please bring, per usual, your own sandwich; dessert, tea and coffee will be served. Immediately following, we have another treat as Sheila Kingsley and Marian Pennington will entertain us with the saga of their recent journey to Panama.

Our Faith, Our Family (OFOF) –
this Thursday 27 October, 6pm

All Saints offers an evening program once a month where adults and children gather for faith formation. We begin with a simple pizza meal. At 6:30pm, the kids proceed to their age-based program. Adults have an opportunity for contemplative worship and Bible study. Please RSVP to Lindsay so that we can accurately order food.
Attendees are encouraged to donate cash to off-set the cost of the meal. Suggested donation for a family of four: $20.

Parish Party –
this Saturday 29 October, 6:30-9:30pm

Come join us for an evening of fun playing the classic board game Clue, but with a few twists. Visit rooms throughout the church, encounter challenges from popular games, and use your detective skills to figure out who done it! Bring your family and friends…it’s fun for all ages!

Those who’d prefer an evening of cards at the party are encouraged to make their own arrangements for a game or two. Tables and cards will be provided.

Jazz Vespers – 30 October, 4pm

This will be a Mariachi Vespers featuring Jorge Lopez and Mexico Amigo Mariachi. Everyone welcome to a casual, relaxing hour of prayer and great music with the city’s finest musicians!

Requiem Mass for All Souls’ Day – 6 Nov.

All Souls’ Day is an annual commemoration of the faithfully departed. This year the All Saints Kingsway Choir will sing different movements of the Faure Requiem, in a Eucharist for all who have died. All are welcome to attend and give thanks for the life of a family member or friend. – November 6th at 4:00pm

Farewell for Lindsay

As many of you know, next Sunday is Lindsay’s last day at All Saints Kingsway as Children’s and Youth Minister. We will be having a proper goodbye for Lindsay at the Sunday 20 November service.

Prayer Requests

If there is someone you would like to be included in the weekly prayers of the people, there is a binder in the narthex and now a binder by the candles where everyone is welcome to write down a prayer request.

Volunteer Opportunities

Diocesan and Community Events

 Death, Dying, Discernment and Ritual:
An Interfaith Panel – Wednesday 26 October
at the Cathedral of St James

How does one prepare spiritually for death? Please join us to listen to diverse voices from the Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist religious traditions, as they share their perspectives on death, dying, ritual and physician assisted dying in Canada. Panelists are:

• Dr. Amina Jabbar, Geriatrics Fellow at McMaster and member of El-Tawhid Unity Mosque
• Dr. Chander Khanna, Vice President of the Hindu Institute of Learning,
• Dr. Marco Mascarin, Buddhist Chaplain, co-founder of Contemplative End of Life Care program, and Buddhadharma teacher
The evening begins with Evensong and Service of Light at 6pm, followed by refreshments at 6:30pm with the Panel Discussion beginning at 7pm.

Toronto Children’s Ministry Conference –
Saturday 5 November

Are you a parent, volunteer, and/or children minister who are passionate about children’s ministry and seeing the little ones grow toward Christlikeness? This year, on Saturday, November 5th at Wycliffe College, the Toronto Children’s Ministry Conference will bring together dynamic speakers – deeply committed leaders and experts in the field from various denominations – to deliver engaging and practical workshops that will equip and inspire you!

Our workshops cover topics such as:
• Developing leadership in children’s ministry
• Facilitating spiritual growth in the home
• Selecting the right curriculum

Tickets range from $25-$40. The registration will include a boxed lunch, free daycare, three sessions of workshop breakouts, worship time and warm fellowship. Please register before October 15th if you require daycare!
