What We Need to Know
The Church Carries Its Story in Song!
What do you sing on the flight to freedom? When you’re confronted with an enormous challenge? When the dark clouds of today give doubt about tomorrow? There is a song for you. Wednesday March 8 to April 5 at 7:15pm in the Chancel.
Looking to our Leadership Future
At the March 5th Vestry meeting, we will be determining who will be wardens for 2017-18. As we are in transition, the Bishop recommends that the two senior wardens, Ross Elver – People’s Warden and Jean Woolford – Rector’s Warden remain in their roles until a new incumbent is in place. We thank the current Deputy Wardens, Penny Oliver and Larry Davey, who will be stepping away from their positions.
To assist James and the current Wardens, a Nominating Committee has been appointed. They will be contacting parishioners for the role of Deputy Rector’s Warden, an appointed position, and Deputy People’s Warden, an elected position.
If anyone is interested in more information about being a Deputy Warden, please contact Gerry Glinski, email: [email protected] phone: 905.823.9345
A Pre-Vestry Meeting will be held on Tuesday Feb 28 at 7:30 pm in the Wilkinson Room immediately following the Pancake Supper. This will be a short presentation on both the 2016 actuals and a preview of the 2017 budget. There will be a Q&A after the short presentations.
Intention Cards 2017
We thank all of you who have sent in your intention cards for 2017, and it’s not too late if you still want to send it in. Please place on the offertory plate, or you can send it in to the office via the mail. If you need more information, please see one of the Wardens, or sidepersons for assistance.
Thank you for your continued support. The Wardens.
The Hamad Family on Skates
What could be more Canadian than skating?! Sharon Conway suggested that we get used skates for the family to enhance their experience of the Canadian winter. The members of the Hamad family are very receptive to the idea. Therefore, we are going to take the family members to Newson’s Bike and Skate Exchange to be properly fitted with skates and helmets. If you would like to contribute to funding this, please make your collection plate contributions out to the refugee fund.
Get in touch with our roots! Check out the new display in the archives cabinet, which focuses on the building of the original church. See the development of this plot of land, from frame house to building site to completed church. The images are a testament to the faith of the parishioners who started this parish.
Our Parish Profile is in the Library
There are several copies of the All Saints Kingsway Parish Profile available to be borrowed from our church library. This is the document you all had the opportunity to contribute to and the one that potential incumbent candidates will read to learn about us. If you haven’t seen it online, borrow it now and enjoy.
Attention – Offertory Envelope Users
Due to the change in numbering please do NOT use offertory envelopes from 2016 or earlier for your offering. We cannot guarantee that the correct person will be credited with their donation if they use outdated envelopes!!
Also, would the person using 2017 envelope #055 please contact the office!
A Message from Terry
We went cross country by train to Vancouver and had a wonderful visit with our family there. It was a great adventure and we loved it.
However, after our return this week, Terry experienced a couple of health setbacks and has been advised to conserve his energy until he is strong enough to resume his activities.
This means we will not be able to be with our dear friends at ASK on Sunday February 12 as had been planned. Instead we look forward, as soon as possible, to setting a new date when we can be with you.
We send you all lots of love and look forward to seeing you in the near future.
Terry and AJ

Our February issue of the parish newsletter is coming up soon, and I’d like to make sure that we get as much input as we can from all at All Saints Kingsway.
If there’s something you’d like to share with the parish, or something you want to ask for help with, please send me whatever material you have by Wednesday, February 8th. Earlier is good, if you can manage it. Later could work if I know to expect it.
