Thanks from Bishop Terry
Dear Friends of All Saints’ Kingsway,
It was such a wonderful surprise when your amazing warden, Jean Woolford, delivered a purse from the congregation.
I never expected to be honoured in such a thoughtful way. AJ and I thank you for your overwhelming generosity. We want you to know that we cherish the memories of our time with you during the interim. Thank you again and may the Creative Spirit bless you with hope, peace, and joy as the future of ASK moves into a life-enhancing future.
Jean’s Addendum: Terry and AJ were thrilled to receive the prayer shawls from their ASK family, lovingly knitted by Cathie Figueira and Sharon Conway. The shawls immediately provided great comfort.
Archbishop Colin Johnson sent out the following email earlier this week:
I am sending this to you this morning, on behalf of Archbishop Terry Finlay and Canon A.J. Finlay:
Archbishop Terry Finlay has been diagnosed with cancer. He is receiving excellent medical and pastoral care, and his situation is stable. We will keep you up to date when there is news to share. He and AJ ask for your prayers and for privacy at this time. Cards and notes are welcome and appreciated but the Finlay’s have requested that you do not send them directly to their home, email or call them at this time. You can appreciate how quickly that would become overwhelming. Cards may be sent to the diocesan office at 135 Adelaide St., E. addressed to Archbishop Finlay and we will send them on to the family. If you prefer to email him, please send it to me with “Finlay” in the subject line, and we will gather and forward them in a timely way to Archbishop Finlay and Canon AJ Finlay. They are very grateful for your prayers and good wishes.
Everyone is invited to sign the card for Terry and AJ.
Let’s Get Together

Young People’s Vestry – TODAY
Hey children and youth of All Saints!
Did you know that it was only a few years ago that we only had wine at communion? And now we have grape juice too because some young people had a brilliant idea of a way to make our church better and more inclusive! Kids and teenagers CAN make a difference! Here’s your opportunity!
TODAY, after the 10:00am service the annual vestry meeting will be taking place. While the adults meet, the young people will also meet to discuss issues that are important to them! What do you love about All Saints’ and can you think of ways we can make our church better? We need your valuable opinions! Come enjoy a pizza lunch, some important conversations, and games.
Please speak to Kelly if you have any questions!
The Church Carries Its Story in Song! – cancelled
Due to lack of expressed interest, this is cancelled.
Seniors Luncheon – Thursday 16 March
The next luncheon will take place on Thursday, March 16. Our programme will be the ASK version of Antiques Roadshow. Todd Milks, an antiques appraiser who provides his expertise at our Spring Sale will talk about what’s hot and what’s not in his field. He will also have time to appraise a few items so be sure to bring along a treasure from home that you are curious about. As usual, we will begin with the 10:30 AM Eucharist and will continue with our programme in the Wilkinson Room. If you would like to be added to our contact list, please call Ruth Laban at 416-239-3625. Transportation requests should go to Myrna Teskey at 416-236-8252.
New Beginnings – Wednesday 22 March, noon
Members of New Beginnings (Group 9) thank their friends for the successful mini-auction in February. Outreach – What’s Needed
All Saints Sherbourne
Clothing and toiletry donations for All Saints Sherbourne are needed. Please leave donations in the large red at the top of the east stairs. Questions? Please call Claire Bergeron 416-233-4795
Donations of non-perishable food are needed for the food cupboard. Items that don’t require cooking are always helpful as people who use the food cupboard do not necessarily have a place to cook. Easy open cans ie those that don’t require a can opener are also useful. Canned fish, such as tuna, and vegetables without added sugar are also in demand.
What We Need to Know
Our Parish Profile is in the Library
There are several copies of the All Saints Kingsway Parish Profile available to be borrowed from our church library. This is the document you all had the opportunity to contribute to and the one that potential incumbent candidates will read to learn about us. If you haven’t seen it online, borrow it now and enjoy.
Rosemary is Retiring
While Rosemary has thoroughly enjoyed working as our Parish Operations Coordinator, it is time to retire and spend time with her family. She will be with us until just after Easter. We will miss her and wish her well in the next steps of her journey.
ASK is a Scent-free Space
In consideration of those with allergies, please refrain from using scented products.
