Many of you know that Terry arrived as our interim priest in September of 2015. While he has shared an amazing journey with us over the last 15 months, it was always our expectation that he would complete his term in December 2016. Well, that time has come and Terry realizes it is essential for his well-being and his health that he take life more slowly and, therefore, stick to the original plan. Although officially Terry’s last services will be Christmas Eve, he wants to come back to preach or celebrate at the occasional Thursday or Sunday service. He loves the All Saints family and I know the feeling is mutual – he will be welcome back anytime.
Although Jason has been with us for a few months, he has made a real impact on our community with his warm smile, his great sermons and his ability to complement Terry. The expectation was that Jason would be here until the end of January but an opportunity has arisen for him and we have agreed that his future comes first. Jason’s last services will also be Christmas Eve and we wish him all the best wherever he is called to go. We will be officially recognizing Jason’s time here on Sunday, December 18, at the end of the service. For Terry, we will recognize his time with us in the New Year.
Terry and the wardens have the great pleasure of welcoming the Very Rev. James Merrett as our next Senior Interim Priest. Now retired, he has served in several Diocesan parishes and was Dean of Quebec and of Qu’Appelle. We are extremely fortunate that he will assume his duties on January 1st and will be with us until our new incumbent is appointed. He brings much experience and a warm, welcoming personality. We are so grateful for his care and oversight.
