At sundown on November 11, All Saints Kingsway will join with other churches in a commemorative bell-ringing ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice. The bell will ring 100 times at 5 second intervals beginning at 4:57 pm. “Bells of Peace” recreates the occasion 100 years ago today, when bells rang out across Canada and around the world to proclaim the news: The Great War is over.
Thank you to Steve Favell, who has investigated the technology of our bell in this regard. Steve and others will be here, in the Sacristy, this afternoon to manually begin the ringing at sunset. You are welcome to join in this act of remembrance – the Kings Lynn door will be open from 4:30.
“At the going down of the sun, and in the morning; we will remember them.”
